Two boats and a helicopter

Topic: Two boats and a helicopter


"Two Boats and a Helicopter" is the third episode of the first season of the HBO drama television series The Leftovers. The episode was written by Damon Lindelof and Jacqueline Hoyt and directed by Keith Gordon. It aired in the United States on July 13, 2014.




A terrible storm hits a small town, and floodwaters rise rapidly.


A faithful man stands on the steps of a building, praying for deliverance, when a man in a rowboat comes by and offers help.


"Better get in the boat, my friend! The water is rising fast!"

says the man in the rowboat.


The faithful man waves him away.

"No thank you. I have faith in the lord. He will protect me."





Later a man in a speedboat comes by, and the faithful man is forced to retreat to the bell tower.


"Get in man, the dam is going to break, and we'll all be washed away"

says the man in the speedboat.


Again, the faithful man waves him away.


"No thank you. I have faith in the lord. He will protect me."


As the floodwaters continue to rise

The faithful man is forced to climb to the very top of the steeple.





A rescue helicopter flies overhead.

"Grab the ladder, my friend. The dam has broken and the water is coming this way fast"

shouts the rescue crew.


The faithful man waves the helicopter away.


"No thank you. I have faith in the lord. He will protect me."


Unfortunately, a huge wave of water comes rushing in and the faithful man drowns.





He confronts god in heaven and asks why he wasn't saved.



"My lord I had faith I prayed to you Why didn't you save me?!"

asks the faithful man.


And god says

"My child I sent you two boats and a helicopter what more did you want from me?"



The moral of the story is that sometimes we get so caught up in our expectations of how things should be that we miss out on opportunities that are right in front of us.



It's important to keep an open mind and be willing to accept help from unexpected sources, even if it doesn't come in the form we expect.

Futile Human Life

The human mind is one of hunger that tries to fill itself 
with even more minds of hunger. 



It is a habit of this mind to want to be filled; 
but no matter how a person with this mind tries,
it can never be filled; this is the reason he suffers.



The world changes along with time that flies by 
but everything that happened over the years remains in his mind,

these stories have become his self, driving him raving mad; 
and he does not know that they are just illusions. 



Such is the reason human life is in vain; 
why it is the life of a non-existent illusion.

Stop your wandering Look within yourself

A tale of a king of China



There was a king of China in history.
The king had everything.
He owned five castles and more than 80 wives.
He had already owned everything since he was born.
He had nothing to be jealous about as he conquered many other areas.


Even for him time passed by and he became 80 years old.
He became sick as his health deteriorated even more. 
He asked a favor to his most trustworthy servant.


“I have enjoyed everything in the world but humans eventually grow old and die.
I no longer need my kingdom, wives, and wealth.
If anyone can give me eternal life
I'll give everything I have in return.
Send out leaflets throughout the country.”


The leaflets are sent out around the country and the king waited for 3~4 years. 
No one turned out for the eternal life.
His health deteriorated and eventually passed away.


Even a person who has everything in the world becomes sick and dies. 
Humans eventually vanish, so the most important thing in our life must be everlasting life. 
Even the king who had everything said that he could exchange what he owned for everlasting life.

Man believes that what is in the world is alive 
and what is not in the world or what has disappeared, 
is dead. 


In fact, it is people, humans, who are dead. 
Man is dead because he is not one 
with the eternal mind of the world. 


He is trapped inside his own mind, 
within his preconceptions and habits, 
formed by taking pictures of countless things 
from his illusionary mind world.


Man continuously makes illusions by putting the world 
and all that happens in the world inside him. 


His thoughts, his very ways of thinking, are wrong 
because he lives inside these illusions. 


Therefore, his thought that he is alive is also wrong. 



Anything in the world that is seen 
from man's perspective is wrong. 


When one sees from the perspective of the world, 
the perspective of Truth, 
he can know that when people die, 
they die forever. 


One must be born in the world of Truth 
in order to become a person 
who is alive - a person who does not die.


Being alive means one has been born in the true world, 
and being dead means one does not exist in the true world.

The fly was so sad about having lost her girlfriend.

The fly said, “Oh … my life is now over.
