Great Nature
Birds singing, insects chirping,
sounds of the beasts in the dark
the trees and grass grow densely,
and the night beasts are moving in the darkness
after resting In the heat of the day.
No one comes here, and there is no trace of man;
this deep, dark mountain forest is the same as in ancient times.
I try to determine
how many have come to this mountain before,
but I think no one has been here before.
Nature just stays silently in its place;
nature just stay
but people believe nature has its own unspoken grumblings.
Nature has no mind,
the mind of nature is the mind of Truth.
In the mind of Truth,
there is no mind of self at all;
it is as it is, without judgment or discernment.
Water flows from high to low
encountering trees, stones, and moss;
filtered so clear, it is almost white.
The water tastes sweet
and droplets roll like crystals upon its surface.
The water runs along the valley,
becomes the river,
and becomes the sea.
In the sea, the rivers come together
and become the salty sea.
It changes to vapor,
becomes rain,
and the rain falls onto the land;
round and round in circles, it goes.
On the highest mountains,
there are no trees and grass
because conditions do not allow them to exist.
Likewise, people who think they are highly important
have no one around them.
