The Danger of Comfort - The Boiling Frog.

The Danger of Comfort
- The Boiling Frog.

If you throw a frog into boiling water,
it will jump out immediately, sensing the danger.
But if placed in lukewarm water and slowly heated,
it remains unaware until it's too late.

This is known as the boiling frog phenomenon,
a metaphor for how comfort can blind us
to growing danger.

We, too, fall into this trap.
We get comfortable, ignoring small warning signs.
We tell ourselves, "It's fine. I'll deal with it later."

But life doesn't wait.

When we're stuck in routine and stagnation,
all that awaits us is death.

Ask yourself:
Do you live to eat, or eat to live?
Is your body truly you,
and can you live forever in it?

Those who seek the true purpose of life and Truth
will encounter the era of human completion
and have the chance to walk the path toward Truth.

By striving to detach from the self,
they will recover their true nature,
transcending the finite body
that endlessly craves comfort.

Are you like the frog,
slowly boiling in your comfort zone
without realizing the danger?

Are you justifying your life by saying,
"This is just how it is?" or
"This is all there is to life"?

Step out of that false sense of comfort.

Save yourself from danger,
and find your true self.

One's Burdens

One's Burdens

One must shoulder burdens.
One must shoulder burdens if
he is not of nature's flow.
One shoulders burdens because
he defies the laws of Heaven.
One is good at shouldering one's burdens.

What one knows are all his burdens.
He is under the false impression that he has wisdom,
but what he has is nothing more than burdens.
Man teaches man knowledge,
but what he is doing is putting a burden on another person's shoulders.

One would have to shoulder nothing
if he knew nothing,
if he had nothing,
and if he himself were no more.
Man carries his own burdens,
unwilling to be free of them.
He acts superior even though he knows nothing about
departures and arrivals,
or existence and non-existence.
Though it is a non-existent life,
he lives thinking it is real;
he lives bound to it,
trembling with anxiety, anger, and greed.
But he does not try to break free from it;
instead he carries all of his burdens
in his attempt to have everything.

Thinking You Are Alive Is a Dream - Save Yourself Before You Are Devoured by the Devil of Time

Thinking You Are Alive Is a Dream - Save Yours
Before You Are Devoured by the Devil of Time.

Rain is pouring down;
late April showers are hurrying spring in.
As the rain falls I look back on life -
it has all become dim memories.
All of it was futile, it was just a dream.
Everyone - those who loved me,
those who cherished me
and those who disliked me -
has scattered and disappeared somewhere.
What remains inside my mind are pictures that my mind has held onto.

All those who lived in the world, within time that flows,
were busy and noisy while living,
and though they tried to fill their feelings of inferiority,
they were unsuccessful, and have vanished somewhere
with just their regrets and bitterness.

That we are living is just a nap-time dream.
Just as when we wake from a dream
we discover that it is not real but false,
it is so with human life.

While one might not know whether it is real or false
when he looks from within himself,
as one knows that a dream is a dream when he has woken,
when man's consciousness sees from outside himself,
from the origin, human life is something that does not exist.

Human life is lived inside a false dream,
lived according to that scripted dream.

Thus man does not know he has died even when he is dead
and even the thought that he is alive
does not exist in the world and is a dream.

Your mind is the path that you have walked,
producing a video of sorts.
Because you live inside that video
you are truly ignorant of the world.

The world is real,
and when you live in the real world
it is possible to know the ways of the world
and the will of the world.
But because you live inside your own world
having turned your back against the world
it is a dream without meaning or purpose,
far from the world.

The life that one lives is a false dream,
gaining false things which become meaningless and false.
Such is human life and the human world.

All people were born and lived without meaning or purpose
and have all gone to a false world after doing false deeds.
Is there anything more lamentable than this?

The world is the land of the skies.
The world is paradise.
The world is heaven.
This land is a place of oneness,
a land that exists.
The land that does not die but lives forever
is the land of Truth.

For a person who has cleansed his mind,
his mind becomes one with the mind of Truth
and is reborn within it,
and thus he is reborn, resurrected.

Wherever he is, wherever he lives
is heaven and Truth and therefore, alive.

As part of the world, he lives without death
in the land of that consciousness.

People! Don't waste even a single moment -
Stop living a false life, repent your sins,
and come out from within your mind world.

Let's go to the heaven we have only heard of
while we are still living.

Know that the silently passing time is the devil
that devours people without rhyme or reason.
Don't waste your time with false deeds
and come out into the world.

Life in this world is all a dream.

No matter how good your life is
or how happy you are in a dream,
what use is it if it is not real?

What meaning does it have?

Save yourself,
before you are devoured by the devil of time.

When you are born in the world without time,
the world where the devil of time does not exist,
neither time nor death exists.

Hope for the Flowers

Hope for the Flowers

Trina Paulus wrote a wonderful fable about butterflies entitled Hope for the Flowers. It is a story of a caterpillar named Stripe who went searching for the meaning of his existence.

One day, Stripe chanced upon a caterpillar tower where he saw others much like himself making a climb to the top. From where he stood, he could only see clouds up above. Despite not knowing what lay ahead, he felt drawn to climb up like the rest. This would be the answer to his search—after all, everyone was pursuing it.

This became his single goal. His dedication to the top, however, blinded him to the fact that he had to step on the others to get there.

Until he met Yellow.

Yellow had previously heard Stripe talk to himself about the senselessness of his pursuit. Sharing the same feelings, she initiated a conversation with him about it. But one time, Stripe stepped on her, just as he did to everyone.

He felt bad about it, though. It was different to hurt someone who had a face and a name you knew.

From this experience, Stripe apologized.

They both agreed that nothing was worth hurting another caterpillar. Together, they decided it was pointless to go any further. They climbed down and chose to live life together.

At first, they were very happy. But Stripe continued to feel this restlessness deep within him. Yellow eventually had to let him go and allow him to find what was at the top in order for him to appease his restive soul.

Meanwhile, Yellow met another caterpillar who was weaving a cocoon for himself. Curious as to what he was doing, she asked him. He then told her the real essence of a caterpillar is to become a butterfly. It would, however, entail some form of dying, as they would need to be in a cocoon first.

Yellow decided to give it a try.

Stripe, on the other hand, continued with his second climb. This time, he managed to reach the top. To his disappointment, he discovered nothing there. The others who were with him at the top refused to divulge this truth for fear of looking ridiculous. So they held their positions just to give the impression that something good was up there.

This was until pressure from the bottom would push them out. They would all then drop and plunge to their deaths.

In this moment of despair, Stripe saw a beautiful yellow butterfly hovering over him. The butterfly looked familiar to him. She was seemingly beckoning him to give up the foolishness of it all and try another path.

He decided to go down and warned others of what to expect at the top. Many refused to listen and accused him of sour graping. But he continued down and followed the butterfly.

In time, he too built his own cocoon and became a butterfly.

He realized that as a butterfly, it was easier for him to fly to the top. But more importantly, he would carry the seed of love from one flower to another.

At last, Stripe understood what made their lives meaningful as caterpillars—to become what they are meant to be in the first place: butterflies who would bring hope for the flowers.
