Are you living in the past? Or dreaming about the future?

🌿 Be Here Now
Are you living in the past?
Or dreaming about the future?
The only real moment is now.

Take a deep breath.
Feel this moment.
This is where life happens.

🧘‍♀️ Meditation helps you find yourself —
not in your memories,
not in your plans,
but right here, right now.

Give yourself the gift of time.
Just one quiet hour for you.
To breathe, to feel, to be. ❤️

Newsletter on August - Reflect on how to have confidence

Dear friend,

Welcome to August.
This month, we reflect on how to have confidence — not just in what we do, but in who we are.

True confidence comes from a quiet mind and a peaceful heart.
It grows when we accept ourselves, even with our worries and mistakes.

Take time to sit in stillness.
Breathe deeply.
Feel the strength inside you.

As the world moves fast, let’s choose peace.
Let’s speak gently, listen deeply, and walk with kindness — to ourselves and others.

You are not alone on this journey.
We are walking together, step by step, toward more light and calm.

With peace and gratitude,
Your PP Meditation Team

A Picnic-like Plan, but a Real Running Challenge! Camko City ~ Techo Stadium: 21km Run

A Picnic-like Plan, but a Real Running Challenge!

From Camko City to Techo Stadium: A 21km Run in Phnom Penh

We planned a 20km run in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with a group of beginners. Since most of them had never run more than 5~10km before, we were a bit nervous. We prepared it more like a picnic, thinking we’d jog a little, walk, eat, and rest. But we were wrong — it turned into a real run!

Meditation Gave Them Strength

Only 4 people joined in the end. Two of them had experience, but the others were new to long-distance running. Still, they all had one thing in common: they practiced meditation regularly. Their calm and focused attitude helped them stay strong throughout the run, despite the slow pace.

Running into the Phnom Penh Morning

📍 Route: Camko City → Techo Stadium (21km)
We met at 5:00 AM and talked about the goal of the run, not just fitness, but mindful running. It was like practicing meditation through movement.
Around 5:15, before sunrise, we started running under the streetlights.

“Shall we run together?”

Break Time and Coconut Water

After 5km, we took our first break. We had several short breaks during the run. Coconut water helped refresh us, and we shared some fruit and boiled eggs.
Funny thing — most people only drink, don't eat snacks, or eggs.
Maybe we don’t need to bring so many snacks next time.

Meditation and Snacks on the Grass

In front of the zoo, we stopped on a grassy area. We stretched, relaxed, ate snacks, and did a short meditation.
It was a great way to rest both body and mind. With this kind of running, anyone can do it!

21km Done — Time to Ride Home

Finally, we reached Techo Stadium after 21km!
We were tired but happy. After drinking water together, we took a tuk-tuk back home.

Warm Finish: Noodles and a Small Gift

We planned to eat at a Korean restaurant, but when I called them to reservation, it opens at 10 AM, and the food is not yet prepared. So we went to a local noodle shop instead.
We also gave each runner a small gift — a book with the date and running record written inside. And sign our name there. Everyone loved it! 😊

A Special Connection

While eating, someone sat next to our table. He used to practice meditation but stopped because of poor eyesight. He said, “I will come back to meditation,” and it really touched our hearts.
It reminded us to take care of our bodies and minds while we are still healthy and young.

Final Thoughts

Running 21km in the fresh Phnom Penh morning, with kind people and good energy — it was a perfect day.
Thank you to everyone who joined. It was truly a happy experience.

💡 Tips for Beginner Runners

1. Start like a picnic — no pressure!
2. Combine running with meditation to stay focused and energized
3. Bring water and salt candy, or roasted salt
4. Don’t need to bring too many snacks 😄

How to Treat Others

How to Treat Others

When dealing with another,
do so with the absence of your mind.

When you do this,
that person will feel at utmost ease.

When you do this,
you will become one with that person.

When you become one with him,
he will listen to your words,
which are free of mind.

Love, compassion, and benevolence
confine the mind of another,
for they are all attachments;
they are undesirable,
for they cause you to create karma
which is what gives birth to the human mind.

If a person attempts to do you harm out of greed
avoid him,
but do so absent of the thought that you are doing it.

This means that no impressions will be left in his mind
and neither will any be left in yours.

If a conflict occurs between you and another
due to his greed,
stand by his side and agree absent of mind;
pretend that you too are greedy
and then slip out later.

This means that so long as you do not become
immersed in his way of thinking,
that mind of greediness will be his
while you will remain as you are.

Why do we undergo trials in life?

We undergo them because of our own karmas.

If you were to ask me how you can overcome
the trials you are experiencing due to your karmic ties,
I would tell that
you must not afford your mind to those trials,
or in other words that
the trials do not exist unless you are present in them.

Enlightenment is the same as knowing the true state of the paper once it is clean

Enlightenment

In the world there are falseness and Truth. Man's mind that lives copying what belongs to the world is false, and the world is true.

Man is not one with the mind of the world; instead he lives in an overlapping copy of it. In any case, it is a certain fact that he lives in his own mind world. He comes to know Truth to the extent that the mind of the world enters his, and this is enlightenment.

Man's mind is made up of illusionary pictures.

Consequently, when he throws away these pictures Truth will enter into his mind, and he will know Truth to the extent of what he has discarded. This is enlightenment.

Only when one repents, can one gain enlightenment and go to the place of Truth.

It is the same principle as washing dirty clothes - the more you clean the dirt away, the more it goes back to its original state.

A piece of paper, which has been scribbled on, gets cleaner the more the scribbling is erased.

Enlightenment is the same as knowing the true state of the paper once it is clean.

Dear friends in Cambodia - Inner Peace and Hope in Difficult Times

Dear friends in Cambodia,

We know these days are very hard.
There is fear, sadness, and pain.
But even in this dark time, we believe:
Peace can still begin inside your heart.

Every day, take a deep breath.
Close your eyes for a moment.
Feel your heart.
There is still a quiet place inside you — a place of peace.

Meditation helps us find that place.
Even if the outside world is not peaceful,
your mind and heart can stay calm.

Also remember:
You are strong.
You have the power to keep going.
You can expand your capacity to stay kind, to help others, and to hold hope.

You are not alone.
We meditate with you.
We send you love, strength, and peace.

Let this be a time to find hope again,
step by step, breath by breath.

🌿 Find peace inside.
💛 Grow your strength.
🌟 Hold on to hope.

With deep care and love,
Phnom Penh Meditation Center
